The importance of doing liposuction of the lower back and flanks during a tummy tuck
Assessing the aesthetic unit that surrounds the abdomen is an essential thing to be done to achieve a successful tummy tuck procedure. There are surgeons that do not pay attention to the flanks and the lower back before performing this surgery.
The abdominal wall boundaries include the lower chest, the flank, the sides and the pubic area on the inferior part. The fat from the flank area extends from the anterior part of the abdomen all the way to the lower back.
These areas must undergo liposuction because if not, the size of your waist won’t change.
When you’re wearing jeans, the front or your belly might look good. But on the sides and on your lower back, there would be a disgusting fat roll that is highly noticeable. To address this issue, I usually perform liposuction on the lower back in combination with my hourglass tummy tuck technique to achieve better results.
With a strong desire to satisfy my patients to the best that I can, I have developed a special hourglass tummy tuck technique. In my experience, it is of utmost importance that I pay attention to the details that can enhance the tummy tuck technique. By performing liposuction on the lower back and flanks, the hourglass silhouette of the patient is being recreated, giving a look of a small waist and wider hips.
